Start with a properly prepared surface built for regular play.
If an older court has cracks, puddles, or areas that have started to sink, it may no longer be suitable for regular use. New courts also need more than a layer of asphalt. The ground must be prepared correctly first, or surface problems can develop much sooner than expected.
At Watkins & Sons Paving, Inc., our family-owned company provides sports court paving for residential properties, subdivisions, churches, schools, parks, and commercial facilities in the Tampa, Florida area. Our owners are two state-certified paving contractors, and we bring more than 30 years of industry experience to every project.
Sports court paving may be used for:
- Basketball courts
- Tennis courts
- Pickleball courts
- Multiuse recreation areas
- Private backyard courts
- Community and church facilities
Before paving begins, we’ll look at the site, discuss how the space will be used, and determine what preparation is required. The area may need clearing, grading, and compaction before we install the base. We’ll also account for drainage so rainwater is less likely to collect on the playing surface.
Once the groundwork is complete, we can pave the area and prepare it for the remaining court features. A well-built asphalt surface creates a solid starting point for coatings, boundary lines, nets, hoops, or other equipment added afterward.
We offer free estimates, and we’ll explain what the job involves before work gets underway. You’ll deal directly with a family-run crew that pays attention to the details and doesn’t cut corners.
